Things to bring canyoning

  • You’ll firstly need to bring clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting wet and dirty. You will 100% be getting wet on this tour (there might be other canyoning adventures where you don’t, but this isn’t one of them).
  • A change of clothes so that when you finish the tour, you can get changed into something dry and comfortable.
  • Closed toed shoes – you must have your toes covered over in whatever footwear you bring. If toes (and more specifically toenails) are exposed, we won’t be able to take you with us. More details about footwear over here.
  • If you have special dietary restrictions, you might like to bring some snacks with you – however, we will provide you with vegetarian food and a snack on the tour.
  • Any medication to continue to manage any pre-existing conditions you have – please bring that. In that same note, if you are anaphylactic allergic to things, please make sure you have your epipen with you.
  • A drink bottle – it’s a great idea to keep hydrated as you go through the tour.
  • If you have a GoPro or a camera that is waterproof and made for adventure and you’d like to bring it along, great.
  • Your sense of adventure – this one is an important one! We’re in pure rainforest for the tour – you will likely encounter some of the incredible wildlife we have here in Costa Rica.

As well as things to bring, it might also be helpful to see a list of things you don’t need to bring that you might be considering:

  • Sunscreen – you won’t need this canyoning – we’ll be under the canopy of the rainforest the whole time and in waterways that we want to keep pristine.
  • Bug spray – in the same way, we request you don’t bring or use bug spray on/before the tour since it is a pollutant to the waterways.
  • A drybag – we will provide you with a small drybag to take with you on the tour, in which you’ll be carrying your food and anything else you’d like to take with you.

Hopefully that helps set you up for an amazing adventure with us in the rainforest. Of course, if you have questions, please get in touch with us.
