How safe is the canyoning tour?

Canyoning in general is considered a moderate risk activity. Knowing that, how do we take that and minimize the risk? We obviously don’t want anyone hurt on our tours, so we take great care in what we do to ensure we all finish the tour with nothing but great experiences and footage for social media 😉

A few of the ways we mitigate risk:

  • In the setting up of the route we worked closely with mechanical and structural engineers to ensure that we were not only meeting but surpassing all the necessary safety requirements of the materials we used and number and location of our anchors.
  • We work with the latest gear from PETZL – considered the world leader in climbing, rappeling and ziplining gear. This includes helmets, harnesses, safety lines, primary lines, figure 8’s and more.
  • We’re inspecting all the equipment daily, and we store it in a way that follows all recommendations by the manufacturer.
  • The way we operate the tour is with a minimum of two guides, with one able to halt your descent with a simple tightening of the rope at any given moment.
  • There are certain requirements to coming on the tour; restrictions around certain health or medical conditions, weight, size and strength, which are all meant to reduce the risk of injury.
  • We pay close attention to weather conditions and if we determine that the risk of heavy rains is there we won’t hesitate to cancel the tour.

The plan is always to have everyone deeply enjoy the experience and leave without a scratch!
